Welcome to Neurodivergent Ministry and our accompanying Substack publication, Discern with Dyslexia. By accessing or using our websites, newsletters, and resources, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms. Grab a cuppa and have a read through.
Part 1: Terms & Conditions
1. Purpose of the Site
Neurodivergent Ministry and Discern with Dyslexia exist to provide community, insights, resources, and reflections centred on neurodivergence, faith, and accessibility.
2. Subscriptions, Donations, and Purchases
We offer a mix of free and paid content across our platforms:
-
Substack: We offer a paid monthly subscription tier on Discern with Dyslexia, which grants access to exclusive, premium content.
-
Ko-fi: We accept one-off donations to support our work, and we also sell digital copies of our books through the Ko-fi platform. Because digital products (like ebooks) are delivered immediately, they are generally non-refundable. However, if you experience any technical issues with your purchase, please get in touch and we will do our best to help.
3. Affiliate Links
We are a participant in the Amazon affiliate programme. This means that if you click on an Amazon link on our site and make a purchase, we earn a small commission.
-
This does not cost you a penny more. The price remains exactly the same for you.
-
Your privacy is protected. We do not see who clicks the links, nor do we see what specific items you have bought. It simply helps fund the ministry.
4. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, all content—including articles, guides, graphics, and audio—is owned by Neurodivergent Ministry. You are welcome to share links to our content or quote brief excerpts with proper attribution, but please don’t reproduce whole articles or commercialise our materials without asking first.
5. Limitation of Liability
The content provided on our platforms is for informational, educational, and community-building purposes only. It does not constitute formal medical, psychological, legal, or professional pastoral counselling.
6. Community Standards
We love a healthy, respectful conversation. In comments sections and community spaces (including our Substack chat), we ask everyone to treat each other with kindness and respect. We reserve the right to moderate or remove content—or restrict access—if comments are abusive, discriminatory, or disruptive.
Part 2: Privacy Policy
Your privacy matters to us. We keep things simple, transparent, and strictly confidential.
1. What Information We Collect & How We Use It
-
Email Newsletters & Automation: We use Hotjar as our email marketing and automated flow provider. When you sign up for our mailing list or request a free resource (like an ebook), Hotjar securely handles your email address so we can deliver the content and send you future updates.
-
Website Analytics: We use Google Analytics (GA) and Google Tag Manager (GTM) to track basic, anonymous website usage. This helps us understand what content is most helpful, fix broken pages, and create a better user experience. We have Google Consent built into the site, ensuring your tracking preferences are respected.
-
Direct Communication: If you email us directly or fill out a contact form, we use your details solely to reply to your message.
2. Cookies and Third-Party Tracking
To make the site function smoothly and to provide embedded content (such as videos), certain third parties may place cookies on your device:
-
Google & YouTube: May drop cookies to track analytics or video playback preferences.
-
Consent: You can manage or revoke your cookie preferences at any time via the consent banner on our website.
3. Third-Party Platforms & Payments
Our ministry runs on several external platforms, which have their own robust privacy and payment security practices.
-
Financial Data: We never see or store your credit card or payment details. When you buy a subscription, make a donation, or purchase a digital book, your payment is processed securely by Substack or Ko-fi (and their payment partners, like Stripe or PayPal).
-
Platform Policies: If you interact with our Substack, Ko-fi page, or external links, those interactions are governed by their respective independent privacy policies.
4. Your Rights
You are always in control of your data:
-
You can unsubscribe from our newsletters at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email we send you.
-
You can request to view, amend, or delete any direct correspondence or data we hold about you by getting in touch.
